The Buzz on Mrs. Keller

Welcome to Mrs. Keller’s very best class.

I wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself.
I am Andrea Keller.  This is my second year at Elliott and it is my eighth year in Irving.  I have now taught special education for 10 years.

I grew up in Canyon, Texas (very close to Amarillo)  My wonderful parents still live in Canyon and have recently bought a local bookstore.  I have a younger sister who also lives in Canyon.  I am married to a wonderful classically trained Executive Chef.  We have two dogs.  Our collie is Wolfgang and our Jack Russell terrier is Ladybug.   I love volunteering! After being in Irving for a year I became the Co-Service Unit Manager of the Irving Girl Scouts. I have been involved in Girl Scouts since I was in kindergarten (over 20 years) I walked in the Breast Cancer 3 Day, volunteered as a Crew member for 3 years.  I was in charge of the Stipes yearbook for 5 years.  I was the Co-Team Manager for a Destination ImagiNation team at Stipes for the past 2 years.  This year Elliott will have another Destination ImagiNation team.  I graduated with my masters in Educational Technology during the summer of 2010.  For the past 3 summers I have had the opportunity to present at conferences across the state over behavior modification, data collection, classroom organization, and using technology with children with disabilities.  5 years ago I was so lucky to be honored as Stipes PTA Lifetime Member.  It was a huge honor to represent Stipes.  Two years ago I was honored to be one of the 3 finalists for Classroom Teacher of the year for TCEA!  This past year I was named Classroom Teacher of the year through TCEA, 20 Educators to Watch by the National School Board Association, and most influential in educational technology by Tech and Learning Magazine.

I am very excited to be working with your child this year.  Please feel free to call or email me at
